Patrick and Monkie Motsepe

It goes without saying Sunday’s and Monday’s are a buzz after watching Mzansi Magics’s love show titled Our Perfect Wedding. This week’s wedding episode of young man Patrick marring his bride to be Monkie caught the eyes of many and even landed on twitter trends. The couple met through a mutual friend and started dating, although Monkie thought Patrick was the ultimate young cheese boy and that their relationship wouldn’t last.

But fate changed her mind. She realized there was more to Patrick, from his sweet manner and caring nature, which kept her coming back for more. Yesterdays wedding, Monkie (the bride) had her heart tipped a bit when her wish of having a double barrel surname failed. An awkward moment hit the wedding celebration as the couple delayed signing the wedding contract whilst disapproving about which surname to keep. “We spoke about this a long time ago, I want a double barrel surname, I feel like I don’t want to lose my identity,” Monki said.

The bride wore a dress she terms as a traditional western wedding gown. Catch the repeats of the show on the following days:

  • 19h00 on Wednesday,
  • 18h00 on Saturday and
  • 9h00 on Sunday.

She’s never been a girly type of person and is proud of doing things differently. She came across as a very mature, confident woman who goes for what she wants. I agree with you Nono, I’m sure she wears the pants in the house. The husband came across as quite childish nje but ke maybe that’s what ausy Monkie loves. People compliment each other in different ways. Lephondo was done nicely, that thing over the head was a no-no, shem! Congratulations guys may your marriage be covered in the blood of Jesus.

Love was written all over in their eyes and that’s what is important, the only no,no was Ausi Monki’s outfits it was really hillarious being +50 size doesnt mean not having a sense of style and Patrick wow he made sure he dress to kill like he said in seTshwana. People always go overboard cause they want to be unique. She has a strong willed character hence Patric said wanyiwa mo, but i love the fact that he appreciate everything she has done for him and will forever cherish her it shows he is in this marriage for keeps. He is young but what matters is Ausi Monki must submit under his authority and he must love her like Christ loved the church and I am glad she sacrificed herself on public TV and took his surname. I also loved when he said most women failed to give him a child and Ausi Monki did and that boy is damn hot like daddy.

1 Corinthians chapter 7 verse 25 ” Now regarding your question about young women who are not yet married. Beause of the present crisis, I think it is best to remain as you are. If you have a wife, do not seek to end marriage. If you do not have a wife, do not seek to get married. But if you do get married, it is not a sin. And if are a young woman gets married it is not a sin. HOWEVER those who do get married at this time will have troubles and I am trying to spare you those problems.

Nare Lenyalo is it a career or an achievement? Everytime people post negative comments , you will see comments like ” nyweeenywee you will never get married, nyeeewnyweee o lefetwa”! what the hell?

Marriage is a life time commitment and people should not rush and marry every Tom , Dick and Harry just because they scared of being called mafetwa. Marriage and having children is a personal choice , some want it others dont want it. There is no difference. I will rather be single and wait for the right person than to get married and end up in an unhappy marriage o worse end up being divorced. To all married couples Congrats and to the single ladies there is nothing wrong with u , embrace being single its not a sin

Patrick has shown that he is a man of his own and an independant thinker, he has the gumtion to show the world that he is inlove, it does not matter how. when you make negative comments like these, don’t you think that they have gone through that before you saw them on TV. People remember that these guys both have families, and i think their families have already commented, so keep quite and share the feeling of euphoria with them. some of you wish Patrick was married to them. 76. No guys what happened to people loving each other despite how they look or age for that matter? we are a very judgemental society…besides Monki being loaded as some assumed is it wrong for some1 to love her for who she really is? Really some comments are uncalled for !! Congratulation Mr & Mrs Motsepe may the good Lord bless your marriage as he’s the 1 that brought you together not SA

  79. @Nkomi , why are u bothered with people’s comment. Post your view and leave others to say their views as well. And by the way go back to your English teacher and ask for a refund tuu.

  80. Why do woman always carry the blame if the partner is young? Why dont we talk abt the wedding decor and the dress and the the suits? People have been married by people half their age and that does not change the fact that they are married. Monkie and Pat,I hope you are strong enough not to listen to all these negative comments about the choice you made. Wishing you all the best!!!!!

    • Of course he is 25 but that’s none of your business. This is really getting out of hand; are we here to comment on weddings or to discuss peoples lives? I just wish you could be more considerate of other people’s feelings and dignities. Don’t you think it’s better to reserve your comments if you have nothing good to say, we really don’t need to hear how intelligent you are in judging peoples looks or whether they complement each other or not. Their age difference is not your problem, get a life please!

      • HHayi suka , leave people alone. If a person appears on a public platform they should expect any type of critisism. This is not a church blog. Awusiyeke tu
