Here come the bridezillas – Four Weddings SA starts Friday

From a naked bride (and groom) to a “steam punk” wedding, complete with an owl as the ring bearer, Four Weddings South Africa looks set to have eyes glued to TV screens and get tongues wagging around the country’s water coolers as 32 brides push the limit and overstep boundries when it comes to their special day.

Four bridezillas – in each of the show’s eight episodes – are so convinced they’re having the perfect wedding – they’re prepared to stake their honeymoon on it whatever the costs!

Each episode follows four brides as they attend each other’s special wedding day and at the end of the day, they must vote on which ceremony takes the cake, with the winning bride and groom whisked off to a dream honeymoon destination in Mauritius.

The winning brides are those that score the highest marks for dress, venue, food and overall experience. So be prepared to “taste” anything from braaivleis to Morogo, “experience” the customs of various South Africa communities and “hear” the languages of the Rainbow Nation in all their splendour and diversity!

Narrating Four Weddings South Africa is comedian Alan Committie, one of the country’s leading stand-up comics and also an award-winning actor and theatre director.

Four Weddings South Africa promises laughter, tears, open-mouthed wonder and complete disbelief – and that’s just from the viewers! Entertainment at its best!

  4. From what I can see on the photo, there’s only white brides. Mzansi is such a diverse nation. To the producers of this programme please mix it up a bit.
